Academically, excellence is a top priority. This is evident in the teachers and students alike. The students regularly score above the national and state averages with a healthy percentage scoring in the top quartile in all subject areas. Further, the students have excelled in special programs for music, art, technology, and physical education

Recent construction and renovation projects during the summer of 2005 had Park View sporting a brand new look when school reopened. The following projects were completed:
• Replace the roof on the North wing (above the library and art room), removing the skylights and replacing them with one continuous flat roof that minimizes future leaking and water problems
• Soundproof the New Gym; the goal is to make the New Gym as acoustically-sound as possible so that we may host our musical performances in this larger gym, and seat more people in the bleachers than we can could seat in the South gym;
• Air-condition the entire facility; our goal is to utilize our facility throughout the year, including the summer, to provide an array of programs and opportunities for our students and the community. the first ever session of summer school was offered during the summer of 2006 and declared a success. The air-conditioning was installed in a way that it could run economically and energy-efficiently;
• Fire protection through a water-sprinkler system was installed throughout the building to protect our facility (and investment) for the years to come;
• Energy efficient lighting was installed throughout the building, actually reducing the cost of our electrical bills while providing improved lighting;
•Replacement of ceiling tiles throughout the building, eliminating those which were water damaged over the years and providing a brighter, cleaner ceiling

Eagle Project brings new look to courtyard
David Nakic, an Eagle Scout candidate and former Park View student, Courtyardrevitalized the courtyard as his Eagle project. David led a team of scouts
by clearing out all of the weeds and overgrown shrubs. The pine trees
were trimmed three to eight feet above the ground. Eight benches,
donated by the PTO, were assembled and placed around the perimeter of
designated areas. Native plants to the area were donated by the
Schaumburg Garden Club and planted throughout the courtyard.
